I've been super busy in my stamp room the past few days getting ready for my upcoming Beat the Winter Blues Card Buffet. If you haven't registered, there's still space, though not much!
But I digress.
In my preparation, while designing projects and alternative samples, I decided to play with two Sale-a-Bration items; The Gang's All Meer and the Stone 3D Embossing Folder. Here's the result..
I am absolutely IN LOVE, with these adorable little meerkats; and so is my youngest! She's actually the reason I made sure this was one of the first items I earned with Sale-a-Bration.
To make this card, I started iwth a base of Coastal Cabana measuring 8 1/2" x 4 1/4", folded in half to become a card measuring 4 1/4" x 4 1/4". I then cut a piece of Whisper White to be 4" x 4" and used the Stone 3D embossing folder and my die cutting machine to add texture to the background. This was adhered to the base using Snail adhesive. Yes, on a piece of Whisper White measuring 1 1/2" x 3", I stamped the cute little meerkat and sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used my Paper Snips to cut a banner tail on the bottom of the whisper white before adhering this to a piece of Costal Cabana card stock measuring 1 3/4" x 4" aligned with a 1/4" gap at the top and using my paper snips to create the banner end that lined up at the bottom. On a scrap of Whisper White, I also stamped the little peeping Meerkat in the Memento Ink and the hat in Melon Mambo ink. I then used Watercolour Pencils in basic grey to colour the Meerkats. I finished the little guys off by using a Blender Pen to pull the shading into the centre, giving them a more realistic look. A piece of White baker's twine is wrapped around the tag twice and tied with a bow; then the piece is attached to the base with Stampin' Dimensionals. The hat, is cut with the paper snips and attached with a Mini Stampin' Dimensional; as is the peeping Meerkat.
All in all, a super cute thank you card to share next time I'm in need; unless my daughter steals it first, lol.
