Fancy Fold Design Team - Triangle Gate Fold

Hello Friends and Happy Friday! I'm excited you're here because it's time for another Fancy Folds Design Team blog hop! This month, we are showcasing the Triangle Gate Fold.

The Triangle Gate fold puts a fun twist on a traditional Gate Fold and it's super easy to do!

I wanted to play with the adorable Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper for this card, so there is actually very little in the way of stamping.

Card Measurements:

  • Card stock base: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"

  • Designer Series Paper: 5 1/4" x 12", scored at 2", 4", 8" and 10"

  • Large card stock coloured square: 2 3/4" x 2 3/4"

  • Basic White card stock square: 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"

  • Small card stock coloured square: 1 1/2" x 1 1/2"

  • Basic White small square: 1 1/4" x 1 1/4"

  • Basic White interior: 4 3/4" x 3 1/2"

Card Directions:

  • Cut your Designer Series paper and score at appropriate measurements above. The inner most score lines will be valley folds and the two outer score lines mountain fold creating two panels that meet in the centre.

  • On the outer most flap, measure 2 1/4" from the top and mark lightly with a pencil. Repeat on the other panel. Use your Trimmer to then cut on a diagonal from the mark on the outer edge to the first score line, cutting off a triangle. Reserve these cut pieces.

  • Fold the card into shape and attach the cut off triangles on the front panels at the bottom, effectively creating a diamond in the centre of the card.

  • Cut your two large squares. Attach the basic white to the coloured square with your adhesive of choice. Attach this to the card front, on an angle lining the points with the centre opening, to ONE panel only.

  • Cut out your pet of choice from the Designer Series paper and attach to the centre of the basic white square using Stampin' Dimensionals.

  • On the smaller basic white square, stamp your sentiment in Pool Party ink and attach the coloured square. Attach to card front with dimensional and tuck the corner of the larger square underneath to keep the card front closed.

  • On the inside attach the larger piece of basic white and stamp the cat in the bottom right corner.

That's it! Easy peasy! Don't believe me, be sure to hop along with us and see more ideas for this fun card fold. Click the button below to be taken to Teresa's blog.
